Hives Update

Sunday, April 6, 2014
As some of you know, I have been suffering from chronic hives since December 2012. I have seen specialists, but especially during my pregnancy they were hesitant to suggest going to an allergist. Since baby Claire's arrival my hives have been especially awful (and I don't need anything else besides baby keeping me awake at night).

Anyway, I had my first appointment with the allergist last week and met with an encouraging/upbeat doctor who felt sure we could get the hives more under control. She explained how hives are triggered and the different treatment methods. The doctor laid out a "strategy" and a nurse to call at anytime with questions. I am so happy and thankful to report that with minimal medications (over the counter Clariton and Zantac) I have not had any hives since the appointment. I almost feel like it's too good to be true, but time will tell.

Feeling thankful today!
