Nordstrom Anniversary sale is on! :)
As an online shopper there's always a need to edit once the boxes arrive. I was trying on some things for Ross (and the girls) so that they could help me with the "keep" pile versus the "return" pile.
E: "I like these jeans, definitely a keep"
R: "But they're ripped already?"
E: "That's trending now and I've never bought a pair like that bc my mom always said the same thing"
R: "If you want ripped jeans why don't you pick out a pair you already own and we'll do a work weekend at the ranch and then they'll look the same as these"

Spiders at the Ranch

I'm not going to lie, I don't like spiders at all. I found out last week at the Ranch that Claire and I have that in common. Paige on the other hand, no big. aThere we a lot of daddy long legs congregating on the front porch ceiling for some reason. Somehow P and daddy came up with a game:
1- Ross knocks them down with a broom
2- Paige tries to step on them
3- Ross sweeps it away
very funny to watch Paige do this in her cute yellow girlie shoes... and most of them got away.

We have a pool!
I'm not sure why I'm so skeptical of some of Ross's side projects, but oh this one may have taken the cake. I just couldn't fathom how we'd turn some gross 100 year old (?) cattle stock tank into a swim worthy, chlorinated pool. But Ross totally proved me wrong. It's. amazing. the water was clear and the girls had a ball.

There have been some big changes at the lake house y'all, including some new toys. We thoroughly enjoyed them last week during our "Tour of Texas" family vacation; we spent 5 days at the lake house followed by 5 days at the ranch. It was so fun! The Penny family joined us on the front-end for a weekend and it was one giant girl party :)
