Stamp Club Round Up

Sunday, September 29, 2013
Here are some greeting cards made in my monthly Stamp Club!

The martini in the glass is raised up and looks pretty neat.

Rubbed ink on the flowers proved more difficult than expected.

Host and teacher, Jackie, is standing up for the demo.

Grown-up Halloween card.

Loved this card! It may be my favorite so far. Yes, the we embossed on a dryer sheet!

Another Stamp Club

Tuesday, April 30, 2013
I am not an official member of a monthly stamp club. It's pretty exciting... I KNOW. A woman named Jackie is a Stamp'In up representative and hosts the gatherings. She has an amazing craft room, with organization that would make Martha Stewart jealous. One day, one day ... :)

This was a unique "bonus" project.

It holds a wrapped chocolate! I gave it to my administrative assistant on admin appreciation day. (She is seriously the best admin I've ever worked with!!)

Stamp'in Up

Wednesday, March 27, 2013
A couple weeks ago Sierra and I went to another Sunday afternoon stamp club. Check out the cards we made!
Sierra, my stamp'in buddy.

Showing off card #1

The fish was so intricate!

A 3D pop-up card! First time I've ever made one of these. Love how it turned out too...

No Hallmark stamp on these cards.

Here's a few demo cards from previous stamp clubs:

I really like this one! I have a thing for owls :)

I really enjoy "crafting" with the ladies-- Lots more to learn!

Stamp Club

Tuesday, November 27, 2012
I went to a "Stampin' Up" party a couple weeks ago with my friend Sierra-- she's a regular, I was the interloper.

Stamp Club is hosted at Jackie's house; she's a Stampin' Up rep but she also has a pretty amazing craft room. There was a couple vacancies at the Nov meeting due to the holidays, so Sierra invited me to be her guest.

Crafts for 3 hours? make 3 original stationary cards? Food/gossip break in between? Sign me up!

It was pretty amazing and I definitely was able to scratch my crafting itch.

Sierra, stamping away.

First card. Check out the perforations all the way around!

 Stamp'in buddies.

The hostess keeps an archive of every card she's ever made. I liked this little owl cut out...

My Sunday creations.

 And the back of course...

Fun!

Eyeballs: Step...DONE

MY EYES ARE DONE!!!!!! I never thought I'd be able to say it, but now I can. SO EXCITED.

Here is a comparison of what my eye looked like post-surgery compared to my other eye that had not yet been done. See the little pupil on the left? Today that pupil looks normal and I am seeing great!

Ross took this picture before bed time after both my eyes were done. They have you sleep with a shield on so that you don't accidently RUB your eyes at night. Rubbing is bad. A puppy face lick isn't the best either.

My vision got tested this morning at the post-op and I am now 20/20 in both eyes!!!  Ross and I are going to have a vision competition tomorrow. I hope I win.

Some people have asked me why I would get this type of surgery. Here's how I sum it up...
1. I've worn glasses/contacts since 2nd grade
2. I had every intention of getting Lasik, but because I'm so nearsighted it wasn't the best option for me, meaning I might not be happy with the results... and Lasik is irreversible.
3. My vision is -8. Most people have -1 to -4. Now multiply that by 2 and that's what I am. You know that giant letter on the top row at the eye doctor? yah well I've never been able to read that without contacts. Example:
So I am  WAS even worse than that little blur on the right.
4. Try taking your contacts out at the ranch

So now it's all behind me! I can't workout, garden, or lift anything for a couple weeks. I also have to continue with eyedrops a couple times a day. Minor inconveniences because I can SEE. What a blessing!!!!!

RIGHT EYE!!

Post surgery, I was feeling good. There were some drugs involved but not many. The cold Frappacino helped too. :) I'm still feeling fine, but my right eye is all blurry and out of focus, so I"m using my left (with a contact in of course). The doctor said I would be blurry tonight. I'm hoping I continue to feel good and wake up with some clearer vision. The left eye surgery is tomorrow!!!

Eyeballs: Step 2

I got my laser incision today after work. It was not the most fun thing I've ever done, but I'm one step closer to unconditional vision!!!! I'm so thankful Ross was there. He kept me level headed (almost) throughout the procedure and chauffeured me home. I wasn't really able to open my eyes for a couple hours, but Roma wasn't having that for too long :)

The actual surgery is next week- right eye on Monday, left eye on Wednesday. I'm READY!!

Ross made a great dinner when we got home-- Beef kabobs. You'll just have to take my word for it because I didn't take any pictures. Now, that I think about it I didn't really see much of dinner, but it tasted super.

Here are a couple wedding pictures someone else took and posted on Facebook... Check out that Groom's cake... chocolate peanut butter. I LOVED the wedding cake. It was so moist.
