I finally have snow tires on my car and it makes all the difference!


Check out those black rims! Just like Scotty's corvette :) Not really. Of course there's more to the story. Those rims are the cheapest ones you can get on the market these days. When you're plunking down the change for a second set of tires the last thing you want to do is spend a lot of moo lahh on rims. Especially with all the snow, ice, salt, gravel, and muck we drive in. Last week there was a warm snap and we were finally able to see the asphalt on the road (it's gone now). The roads here are so torn up - the studded tires, winter tires, freezes, etc create huge ruts. In the icy weather those ruts cause drivers to get trapped and run off the road. It's really unusual. There's huge medians on the freeway for that very reason. On our AM drive into the office there's often a couple cars in the ditch.
