Backpacking-- Check!

I'm feeling more "legit" now that we have our first backpacking/camping excursion under our belt. We hiked for about 2 hours up to a cabin in the woods near Seward, AK. This remote little outpost had an amazing view of Seward and the bay. I suppose it was our reward for putting in some serious grunt work. Thank goodness we had our snowshoes, because there was still about 5 feet of snow up at the cabin.

I had to summon my inner girl scout for the sleeping/bathroom arrangements. No elaboration necessary.
